Ok, I finally got a picture on here where it is supposed to be. Now if I can do it again, we can start having regular posts again. Sorry it's taken me so long. I've still not been feeling 100% so I don't always feel like posting here or making cards. Rotator cuff surgery is not hard (after all, they put you to sleep!) but the recovery is something else! My dr tell me that 6 mos for recovery is not unusual for this.

Woe is me! lol

My dear son came & fixed my computer. BTW, if you receive anything about FaceBox, DO NOT CLICK ON IT. It contains some kind of malware that can really mess up your computer. When I got it, it looked like it came from my daughter & I knew she wouldn't send me anything bad. Well, it seems that this thing takes all your facebook friends & sends this stuff to them in your name. Then it puts this virus on your computer. Fortunately for me, my Norton blocked it from my computer but my son, Daniel, still had to jump through a few hoops to get it off so that I could even get back on facebook. My sil was already having some computer problems & it totally messed up her machine. She had to take it to a pro to get it fixed.
 Ok, now I'm having to learn new tricks on blogspot for posting pics here too. Sorry, it's taking me a while. I've got a card ready to go for you here. I just have to figure out how to get it posted onto my blog. Sorry that I'm not the most tech savvy blogger around. I'll get some cards back on here asap!

computer problems

Having computer problems. Will post again as soon as I can get my "computer expert" to come over. My son is great with computers & I know he will be able to help me. Along with some other problems, right now, I'm not able to post any pictures.

Punches and Patterns

On this card, my friend, Joyce Delancy, added several sunburst flower punches to make a bright design. Hope you like it.

Excitement

I went to the dr on Fri & he said that I didn't have to wear that cumbersome sling any more. Yeah! I'm so excited about that. I was so tired of it after wearing it for 5 wks. Sleeping much better without it. He also said that I can drive again. That's exciting too.

I still have to work on range of motion in my arm but I'm making super progress! I go back in 4 weeks & dr said we would start working on strength exercises then. Yes, I still have some pain but most of it can be handled with ibuprophen & don't have to worry much about the prescription stuff.

God is so good! He has given us so much with our modern medicine. I don't even want to think what my arm would have been like 100-150 yrs ago. I'm glad I'm living in a glorious time in history.

Recycle Old Christmas Cards

I'm always looking for ways to recycle or reuse things, especially paper items. I found this listed on Frugal Girls a few days ago and thought I would give it a try. Sometimes you can find places to give your left over cards, like nursing homes, etc to use in craft projects but that depends, often, on the craft director at the place. Here is a simple way to reuse your Christmas cards and make a small gift for friends also.

Make bookmarks!

Stampin' Trimmer (#126889)
1/16" Circle Handheld punch (#101227)
3/16" Cornere punch (#119871)
about 12" ribbon, 1/8" - 1/4" wide per bookmark

For each book mark, trimmer off the back half of the card and discard.

The size of the bookmarks will vary depending on the picture/image on the card. For some cards you will be able to cut one nice bookmark. For other cards, you will be able to cut 2 or 3 bookmarks.

Decide what portion of the image you want to use on the bookmark.

Cut that section out using your trimmer. Punch a hole near the top of the bookmark with your handheld hole punch. Thread the ribbon through the hole looping the end. Round the corners with your corner rounder to give it a finished look.

With some cards you can make 2 or 3 bookmarks, depending on the card design. The width of the bookmark is not really that important as long as the proportion looks good.

You can add words, greetings or stamped images to the back of the bookmark, if you wish.

These are great to give in cards that you send throughout the year, next year's Christmas cards or your local school library.

Flowers & Fairies

My friend, Cheri Peeples, made today's card also. This was not made with SU! products but it would be very easy to us SU! to make this cute card. She used 2 layers of cardstock and 2 layers of patterned paper. I just saw some really cute paper in the spring catalog that would be perfect for this. Take a look at the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack(129312) or there are several papers in the regular catalog that would work for this. Twitterpated (#125406) is one of my favorites. There are some really cute florals that would be great for this card. After the layerig, she added some fairy stickers that she had and ribbons & brads.
So cute! And could be used for so many things.
