Fun, fun, fun

This is the last of my los from my crop group fun/silly time. You can check back Wed. to see one of the cards that I made. Like the other los, I used Tea for Two DSP (#129311), Melon Mambo & Pacific Point cardstock.

Hope you enjoyed seeing some scrapbook pages this time.

Happy, happy, happy

Another scrapbooking layout today. Again, I used Tea for Two DSP (#129311) and Melon Mambo and Pacific Point cardstock. Yes, the title is from Phil Robertson of Duck Dynasty fame. Love that show. It's a good fun show with family values. You don't ever have to be afraid to let your kids watch it. There are never any curse words or off color humor. Just good, clean, Christian fun and values.

This is more fun from our crop day, like you saw yesterday. IMO, sometimes you don't have to make a lo fancy, just fun will do.

Togetherness

No cards today, just some scrapbook los. My friends & I got together a couple of days ago for our monthly crop. We spent a part of the time just having fun and acting silly.
The background paper is Tea for Two DSP (#129311). I just love the patterns in this set! The cardstock that I used is Melon Mambo and Pacific Point. Not a fancy lo. Just a fun one!

Pen and Marker Holder

Materials:

1 box at least 2” x 4” x 61/2” This can be ½ of a cereal box, hot chocolate mix box, cake box, etc.

1 sheet 12 x 12” patterned paper

18” ½” wide ribbon

¼ sheet colored cardstock to coordinate with your patterned paper

¼ sheet white cardstock

Feel Goods stamp set (#129684)

Brights Designer Button collection (#119747)

Top Note Bigz die (#113463)

Labels Collection Framelits (#125598)

Classic ink to match your paper

4 empty toilet tissue rolls

If the bottom of your box does not have a good seal, cover it with clear 2” tape.
1. Cut your patterned paper in ½ to make it measure 6” x 12.”

2. Trim the box so that it is no taller than 5.”

3. Measure each side of your box. Great Grains cereal boxes are 6 3/8” long on the sides and 1 7/8” wide on the ends. Add 1/8” to each measurement.

4. Score the 6 x 12” paper at 2”, 8 ½”, and 10 ½”. You can cut the paper at 10 ½” or allow it to overlap each section.

5. Place tape on all sides of the paper on the back side (the side you don’t want to show).

Top paper should be ½ to 1” taller than the box.

6. Wrap the paper around the box lining the bottom edge of the paper with the bottom of the box.

Snip each corner on the top of the paper so corners will fold easily. Place adhesive on the inside of the paper and fold to the inside, pressing firmly.

7. Decorate your box.

Place tape to the back of the ribbon and wrap it around the center of the box, overlapping the ends. Place one hand on the inside of the box and press down on ribbon and inside of box.

8. Cut top note die from Old Olive cardstock or other color that matches your patterned paper.

Stamp a saying on white cardstock. Using a die from the Framelits Labels Collection, cut out around the saying. Use a sponge dauber and classic ink to rub ink on the edges to highlight it.

9. Thread 2 strands of floss through the holes of a button. Add glue dots to the back and attach it to the bottom left corner.

10. Glue the finished label to the box over the center of the ribbon.

11. Rub ink on the tops of the toilet tissue rolls and place inside of the finished box.

Photo Collage

Materials:

Mallow Moss textured cardstock 12 x 12”
Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack (#129312)
Little Friends stamp set (122667)
Gumball Green In Color ink
Gumball Green marker
Basic Gray marker
Certainly Celery cardstock 2 ½ x 8 ½”
Whisper White cardstock
Your photos

1. Choose 2 matching pieces of 4 ½ x 6 ½” patterned paper from the paper stack that coordinate with your project. Glue them to the 12 x 12” cardstock with the one on the right side about 2 ½” from the bottom and the one on the left side about 1 ½” from the top.
2. Trim your photos so that they fit together as a collage. I used 5 photos on mine with the sizes ranging from 3 ¼ x 4” to 4 ¾ x 4”. You have to decide the sizes based on your photo. Don’t cut off any important part of the picture. Remember: only you can decide what is important to you. Lay them on the scrapbook paper to see which grouping looks good to you. You can certainly copy my grouping is that works for you. When you are happy with your grouping, adhere.

3. Stamp the 3 children’s images on white cardstock with green ink. Trim around the outside of the images. You can take time to color the images if you wish but I thought that all the green here looked good without extra coloring. Place the images on 3 sides of the paper, around the photos, and adhere.

4. Do hand lettering for your title and journaling. You can find several examples of hand lettering in current issues of Card Maker Magazine that you can find at news stands.

Make larger lettering for your title. On mine my title is simply my grandbaby’s name and birthdate. Make that lettering with a darker green marker. Below that, do your journaling in Basic Grey marker.

5. Attach this cardstock to the bottom left section of your page.

Sunday-Save a Place for Me

I might have said it before but 2013 has really started out to be a crazy year. I am determined that it WILL be better. My brother-in-law passed away yesterday. He would have been 77 on March 10. He has been battling cancer for several years. Bobby was never married and had no children. His only family at this point was my husband, David  his brother, and his two sisters, Peggy and Joyce. They decided his best option was a skilled nursing home about a month ago. This past week he was doing very badly. His body was starting to shut done and it became clear that he was facing the end. I sat with David & a sister several days while we waited for the end. No one wanted him to be alone when he died and he wasn't. There were 8 family members there when the end came so he left this world surrounded by love. He met their mother in heaven waiting for him with open arms. Bobby is no longer in pain and is now in peace with the Lord.
