Penguin congrats

This card has a lot to do with knowing the recipient. My grandson graduated high school on Friday, June 1 so this card is for him. There are two things that he is passionate about. One is Star Wars. He knows every character & plot in every one of the movies and then some. The other thing he is passionate about is penguins. He can tell you all about all the different kinds, what they eat and on & on. What would have been perfect would have been to make him a card with penguins meeting R2D2 but that just doesn't really go together. Anyway, he will be going to Baylor University in Waco, TX next fall majoring in film, so there's the Star Wars connection. Here is his card.

  1. This was made with paper from the Summer Smooches (#125409) DSP for the background cut at 4 1/4 x 5 1/2."

2. Using a piece of Midnight Muse cardstock, cut out a Top Note (#113463) with your Big Shot.  Adhere it to the center of the background paper.

3. Place a piece of 5/8" Whisper White Satin ribbon(#114616) across the card at about 1 1/2" from the bottom.

4. Stamp 3 penguins from Zoo Review (#122197w) in Black classic ink. Use the black marker to darken the wings and the Pumpkin Pie marker to color the feet and beak. Cut the penguins out. Adhere them to the Midnight Muse Top Note with some overlapping the ribbon.

5. To give these penguins a glittery belly,  rub the corner of your Versa Mark pad on the white area. Then sprinkle some Heat & Stick Powder(#100625) on and heat with your heat tool(#100005).

6. Next, sprinkle it with Dazzling Diamonds(#102023) glitter. Heat again.

7. The graduation banner is made with the new Framlits Bitty Banners(#129267) and Summer Starfruit cardstock. Cut them out using the Big Shot. Stamp the greeting from Teeny Tiny Wishes(#115370). Cover up the "graduation" word with scrap paper when stamping "Apply adhesive to the back of the banner and place on the Top Note.

8. Apply adhesive to the back of the card front and put onto the card base.
