Hybrid Easter Bunny

I recently discovered www.daisytrail.com. At this sight, you can find loads of cute digital items for cards & scrapbooking. You can also get the Serif Craft Artist program for free. They do have a more complete program for sale but the freebee is a good start. They also have several digikits for free. When you download the program, they also give you a voucher for $10  of free stuff.

Here is the card that I made tonight.

Materials needed:
Serif Craft Artist program
FM Occasions digikit
White card stock
Certainly Celery card stock 5 1/2 x 8 1/4"
Afternoon Picnic patterned paper (#131390) 4 x 5 1/4" plus
Pool Party card stock 2 x 4"
Melon Mambo card stock 1 1/2 x 3 1/2"
Windows Frames die set
Corner Rounder
Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430)

1. Using the Craft Artist program, choose a bear from the FM Occasions digikit. Move it the to project area and size. Use the font that comes with the digikit to make your greeting. Print them on white card stock and then cut them out.
2. Score and fold  the Certainly Celery card stock at 4 1/4." Adhere the patterned paper to it.
3. Adhere the Pool Party card stock next about 3/8" from the bottom of the card.
4. Use your Big Shot machine to cut out 2 of the window dies that will fit on top of each other. Use the patterned paper for this. I made the reverse side the larger window and then the same side as the background paper for the smaller one. Adhere both of these pieces on to the card front. The wisteria checked window will overlap the pool party card stock. Then adhere the smaller one on top of it.
5. Adhere the Melon Mambo card stock on the Pool Party card stock. This time you will overlap the bottom of the window die cut piece slightly.
6. Cut out the greeting to measure 1 1/2 x 2 1/2". Round the corners. Adhere this above the Melon Mambo card stock. I let the bottom of the greeting go over onto the Pool Party.
7. Place Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the Fizzy Moon bear and place on top of the window die cuts.
8. Add a special note to a special child on the inside and you are ready for Easter.

Layers with Wisteria Wonder and Crushed Curry

I really like how this card turned out. It could be used for an Easter card, a birthday card or just to celebrate spring. It takes a little while to do all the layers but it's not really hard, just time consuming.

Materials needed:
Afternoon Picnic patterned paper (#131390) Use two different patterns, 4 x 5 1/4" and 2 pieces
                  2 x 3  1/2" each
Wisteria Wonder card stock 4 1/4 x 5 1/2", 2 x 5 1/2", 2 1/4 x 3 3/4"
1/4" Daffodil Delight Grosgrain Stitched ribbon (#126872) 2 pieces each 6" long
White card stock for oval and for flower images and greeting
Flower Shop stamp set (#130942)
Fabulous Florets stamp set (#123027)
Eyelet Border punch (#119853, retired)
Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430)
Old Olive ink pad
Wisteria Wonder ink pad
Crushed Curry ink pad
Coluzel ovals or other oval cutting item
Craft knife

1. Cut all the paper pieces the sizes listed. Adhere the patterned paper on the correct size Wisteria Wonder card stock.You will have 3 pieces now.
2. With the Wisteria Wonder card stock that is 2 x 5 1/2" use the Eyelet Border punch to punch on each of the long sides of this.
3. Place adhesive on the back of each of the pieces of ribbon. Press them to the Eyelet Border that you just punched out. Place them straight across the card stock so that each piece is just beside the eyelets. You will have about 1/4" card stock showing between the ribbon. Wrap the ends around to the back of the card stock.
4. Adhere the 2 smaller pieces of layer paper and card on the large piece. Leave about 1/4" between each of them and about 1/4" border around each of them. Place adhesive on the back of the eyelet border and ribbons. Adhere it across the layers so that the bottom border is about 1" from the bottom of the card.
5. Cut an oval from white card stock. Stamp some leaf or stem images on to the oval using Old Olive ink. 
6. Stamp 4 flower images, 2 with Crushed Curry ink and 2 with Wisteria Wonder ink. Punch out or cut out each image. Adhere them to the center section of the oval. Leave some of the stems or leaves sticking out behind the flower images. Rub the edges of the oval across the Old Olive ink pad to distress it a bit and to make the oval pop off the card. Add Stampin' Dimensionals to the back of the oval and place across the center of the card, covering the layers.
7. Stamp the greeting in the stamp set or choose a greeting of your own and stamp on white card stock with Crushed Curry ink. Cut out around the words of the greeting. Place a Stampin' Dimensional to the back of the left end of the greeting. Place adhesive to the rest of the card. Press it onto the card with part of the saying extending over the oval.
8. Adhere the card front to a card base and place a note or greeting on the inside of the card.

Easy Peasy Bunny

This is an easy card that you can make in 20 minutes or less.

Materials needed:
Marina Mist card stock 5 1/2 x 8  1/2" scored and folded at 4 1/4"
Delicate Dots patterned paper (retired) 4 x 5 1/4"
Birds of a Feather patterned paper (#126899) 2 1/2 x 3 3/4"
White card stock
Watercolor pencils
A Little Bit of Spring stamp set (#126011, retired)
Regarding Dahlias stamp set (#130327)
Framelits Labels dies (#125598)
1 3/8" Circle punch (#119860)
Stampin' Dimensionals (#104430)
Decorative scissors
Marina Mist ink

1. Run a medium sized die centered on the delicate dots patterned paper through your Big Shot machine.
2. Cut the top edge of the patterned paper with the decorative scissors. I used a grass cut. Adhere this to the back of the 4 x 5 1/4" paper positioning it at the middle of the label die cut.
3. Adhere this to the Marina Mist card stock leaving a small border around the edge.
3. Stamp a bunny on white card stock. Color the bunny with watercolor pencils. Cut the bunny image carefully around the outer edge. Stamp a greeting with Marina Mist ink on white card stock. Punch out the greeting with the circle punch. Rub the edge of the circle on the ink pad to ink the edges.
4. Place the bunny above the paper in the center of the card. You may overlap some of the bunny on the paper, if needed.
5. Place Stampin' Dimensionals on the back of the greeting circle and adhere to the bottom left side of the card.

Carrot Basket

Materials:


Orange cardstock

Brads

Scrap paper

A Little Bit of Spring stamp set (#126011)

Classic ink



1. Trace the cone shape onto the orange cardstock. Cut out.

2. Stamp decorations on the outside of the cone cutout.

3. Wrap the paper into the cone shape. Glue the edge together and press along the edge.

4. Cut out 1 piece of orange cardstock to measure 1 x 10”. Stamp decorations on it.

5. Use a circle hole punch to punch holes into each end of the paper strip and 2 sides of the cone. Place brads through to hold the handle in place.

6. Cut pieces of scrap paper about 1/8” wide. Crumple to use as filler inside carrot or buy commercial Easter “grass” for filler.

Punch Bunny

I made this card using a bunny that I made from my punches. The bunny is really easy using punches.

1. Punch all your pieces out first.

You will need 2 white ovals using the small oval (#120908) punch and 2 pretty in pink small ovals.

Punch one white oval with the extra large oval(#119859) punch for the body.

Punch 2 white ovals with the large oval(#119855) punch for the ears.

You need one white circle from the 1 1/4" circle (#119861) punch for the head and one small pink circle using the 1/2" circle (#119869) punch.

2. Cut the 2 small white ovals in half to use for the feet and arms. Place a small amount of adhesive onto the cut edges of the small white ovals. Slide these under the bottom of the extra large oval for feet and under the upper half of the extra large oval for arms.

3. Place adhesive on the back side of the small pink circle and place behind and above one of the feet so that it sticks out slightly.

4. Place adhesive on the back of the small pretty in pink ovals. Place those on the center of 2 large white ovals for the ears. Use a bone folder or your score board to score one of the ears about 1/2" from the top so that is will flop over. Attach these behind the head with adhesive.

5. Put the head over lapping the body.

6. Using your SU! markers draw a face on the bunny and toe & finger marks on the hands and feet. I used Marina Blue for the eyes, Pink Pirouette for the nose and mouth and Early Espresso for the whiskers and eyebrows.

7. Tie a bow in a piece of 1/8" organdy ribbon from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack that you can get free with a $50 purchase during Sale-a-Bration (until March 31).  Attach it at the bunny's neck with a glue dot(#103683).

8. To complete the card, I used patterned paper from the Flirtatious Specialty(#122360) pack cut 4 1/2 x 5 1/2." I used the small oval punch to cut out some "eggs" for the bunny. I cut the ovals in half and tucked the bottom part under other paper.

9. For grass, I punched Old Olive card stock with the Pinking Hearts border (#117649) punch and place it just barely over the bottom of the bunny.

10. The greeting is from Teeny Tiny Wishes(#115370)[Yes, I use this set ALL the time!] I popped it out with my Word Window punch(#119857) and mounted it on the Modern label (#119849) punch cut in Old Olive. I attached it with a brad from the Everyday Enchantment Ribbon and Brad pack.

I think this will give me a cute Easter card for one of my grandchildren. Hope you enjoy it.

He Is Risen

Here are 2 versions of the same card. Again, today, I did not use any Stampin' Up! products on these cards. The brownish floral paper is from Basic Gray. The green floral paper is from a glitter mat stack that I got at Hobby Lobby. The wording on these "Rejoice He is risen" was done with my Xyron Design Runner & using different fonts. On the Basic Gray card I double matted the wording & used a metal cross that I picked up some where. I inked around the edges of both mats with SU! Classic Bravo Burgundy ink. I love inking the edges of my papers. It's so easy. Just brush the edge of the paper against the ink pad until you have the amount of ink that looks pleasing to you. Inking your papers give it a distressed or old look and also pops it out a bit from the background paper. On the green card, the cross is a sticker. I inked these edges again with Bravo Burgundy ink. I added ribbon and a green floral slider to dress up the card a bit.

On the front of both envelopes, I decorated them with a bit of left over paper making a strip down the left hand side. This adds an extra touch to the presentation of the card.

Enjoy your family at this Easter time and be sure to remember the reason that we have Easter. Yes, Christ died for you & me on Good Friday but the importance of Easter is that He rose again and lives in heaven for eternity now. We serve a RISEN savior!

cute Easter card

I hope you have a wonderful day today. Remember, this is the day our Lord was put on the cross to die for our sins. The important part is that on Sunday, he arose from the grave & live in heaven now.

This cute Easter card is one that I made last yr. I didn't use Stampin' Up! products on it but, even though I do love Stampin' Up! products, I do have loads of other things too!
1. The paper pieced bunny is really easy to make. I used 3 hand drawn piece on white cardstock (SU! Whisper White is great) but you could used a Cozzule oval to make the large one. The shapes look basically like you see here. One large oval for the body, 2 elongated ovals for ears & the 2 shapes that look like ovals with a bump on them for the feet.
2. Cut the shapes out & ink the edges with Passion Pink.
3. Use the large oval for the base. Glue the 2 feet shapes on the front near the bottom of the oval. Glue the 2 shapes for ears on the back of the oval at the top.
4. Use a fine tip pen like SU! Stampin' Write Journaler to add features to the shapes. I drew long ovals inside the ears, lines on the feet for toes & whiskers and dots for eyes on the face. I used a small pink triangle for a nose.
5. I found ready made bows in pastel colors & attached with glue dots as shown. You could make cute bows out of 1/4" ribbon.
6. The paper I used for the card background came from a 6x6" stack from Nana's Kids that I got at Hobby Lobby. SU! has some really cute designer papers that could be used for backgrounds.
7. I put dimensionals on the back of the bunny so it would pop.
8. On the vertical card, I used a 1/4" strip of Lavender lace cardstock and added a few Easter stickers to dress this background up.

Have fun making these cute Easter cards. I know some kids will love getting them!

Busy, busy, busy

Today has been a very busy day for me & it looks like it's not going to let up until next week. I hope I'll be able to post some ideas or layouts tomorrow & Thursday but I know that after that I won't have time to post until Monday. Please check back then & hopefully, I'll have something creative to share with you. My church is having our missions conference this weekend and since I'm on the missions committee, my whole weekend is booked solid.
I thought I'd share this layout with you today of 2 of my grandchildren from a couple yrs ago. The papers used in this layout are from SU! Tea Party designer series papers. I just love the floral and the lavenders! I think my favorite color is changing to lavender from the blue that it's been all my life. This was so easy to put together with the papers already matching. The title I stamps with Schoolbook Serif alphabet in Certainly Celery ink. The ribbon across the top is the Certainly Celery from the ribbon bundle in the Sale-a-bration brochure. If you want to get any of the free sets in the SAB mini, be sure you order by March 31. That's the last day for this sale.

This little basket is so cute and easy to make. For the eggs, I used one of the stamps in the Wagon Full of Fun set that is brand new to Stampin' Up! It is in the new occasions mini catalog that comes out April 1. Email me if you're interested & I'll send you the mini now so you can be looking at all the cool new sets they've got. Actually, the Wagon Full of Fun & 2 more sets, plus a jumbo wheel can be pre-ordered so that you'll have time to use the Easter stamps before Easter gets here. The flowers on this little basket were stamped & cut out, using a stamp from Best Kind of Friend set. I stamped the flowers on Pink Passion cardstock & made the basket from Tempting Turquoise cardstock, both from SU! of course. The eggs were colored with my favorite Stampin' Pastels. I think chalk must be my favorite medium! I just love using it. Now, where did I get the Easter "grass" for my basket? I took strips of left over cardstock & just ran them through my crimper! So easy, even my youngest grandchild, Jacob, could do it! (Of course, all of my dgc are gifted anyway!) :-)
