Mother's Day Kid

Here's another Mother's Day card for you. We love our Moms and they certainly deserve more than one special day so make this Mother's Day extra special.

  1. To make this card, you will need to snip out a doily from the Flirtatious Speciality Designer Paper(#122360). There are 2 sheets of doily paper that are 12 x 12" each. They can be used as a whole sheet or you can easily snip out the individual doilies for 16 separate doilies to use in your projects. You will also want to cut a piece of the Wisteria Wonder patterned paper in this pack to measure 4 1/4 x 5 1/2" for the background paper.

2. Adhere the doily to your background paper. If you have adhesive that comes through all the holes in the doily and tries to stick on everything else, simply sprinkle a small amount of baby powder over it. Shake or brush off all of the excess powder.

3. Stamp one of the adoreable kids from the Greeting Card Kids (#120633) stamp set in black ink. Use Watercolor Pencils(#101879) to color your image. Use a red pen or marker to  write MoM on the heart. Cut the image out of the cardstock and place Stampin' Dimensionals(#104430) on the back. Stick this onto the doily.

4. Using the "happy Mother's Day" stamp in Teeny Tiny Wishes (#115370), stamp the greeting in Melon Mambo classic ink on white cardstock. Punch it out with the Word Window (#119857) punch. Punch out a piece of Wisteria Wonder cardstock with the Modern Label (#119849) punch. Adhere the greeting on top of the cardstock. Ink the edges with Whisper White ink, to help it stand out. Place is over the right side of the doily sticking out onto the background paper.

5. Use glue dots(#103683) to adhere buttons from the Designer Brights Button Collection (#119747) onto the background paper. I used three different sizes coming down the right side of the card front. If you wish, you could add some twine or thread to tie a knot on the buttons before you put the glue dots on.

6. To make the eyelet lace the goes across the bottom, use a piece of Melon Mambo dotted patterned paper cut 4 1/4 x 1 1/2." On each of the long sides use the Eyelet Border (#119853) punch to make a strip of "lace." Using a 5" piece of Wisteria Wonder 3/8" Ruffled ribbon (#122973), apply adhesive to the back of the ribbon. Carefully lay it in the center of the eyelet "lace" and press down. Put adhesive on the back of the paper lace and adhere it about 1" from the bottom of the card front.

7. Adhere the card front to a 8 1/2 x 5 1/2" card base scored and folded at 4 1/4." If you want to dress up the envelope, you can stamp either one of the "kids" from the Greeting Card Kids set or a doily from the Delicate Doilies (#122590) set. Stamp the doily in Melon Mambo on the outside of the card.
